Introduction

Hello all, this is the River's Edge Gallery first blog post and I (Kirstie - Leigh Riley) thought I would take this opportunity to introduce ourselves to you! We've been open to the public since November 1st 2016 however it all got started in the September, so you could say we've been going for a year now.

Myself and my Partner Ivan Ashmore opened the gallery together as a young couple with a dream of bringing contemporary artwork to the Hope Valley Area. Ivan, having worked at his parents own gallery over the years and myself being an artist and helping out on the occasion decided that with the connections we had it would be possible to open a small gallery in the local Hope Valley Garden Centre, and so we did.

Since opening we have put together several coffee and cake exhibition launches and have even been fortunate enough to run an artist meet and greet with the talented Pauline Rignall, an experienced artist based in Eyam. We look forward to hopefully seeing you at the gallery, and to running other various events over the coming year. Watch out for our next blog post which will be based on what this is really all about: The Art!!
